G’Day, Mate! Welcome to Australia!
Australia is the world’s sixth largest country, comprising an area of approximately 7.7 million square kilometers. Australia is comprised of six states (Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia, and New South Wales, which includes Sydney, Australia’s largest city) and two territories (the Australian Capital Territory, which includes Canberra, and the Northern Territory).
Australia is also one of the wealthiest countries in world. A 2012 Survey stated that Australia had the world’s fifth highest per capita income. Australia is often referred to as the “Lucky Country”, with its spacious surroundings, high standard of living, excellent health and education system, temperate climates, wide and varied landscapes, political and economic stability, and a high quality of life. Many countries around the world envy it for these reasons. The multicultural background and diverse ecosystems also makes Australia special, unique, and beautiful. It is a great country to settle in and is viewed by many as the “land of opportunity” for people of all races.
